Australia Day 2002

The crowds gather in Memorial Park for the Victoria Park - Australia Day Celebrations and Honours Announcements!

The Victoria Park Brass played various mood pieces, but we are not sure why they played 'Dixie'?

The Mayor Mick Lees nervously announced the itinerary of the day, stuggling to control his excitement and joy.

The Premier of Western Australia waxed lyerically about the significance of the day and those about to be honored.

The Federal Parlimentary Member Kim Wilkie placed the day in context from that of a true blue Aussie!

The crowd hushed

to hear the wispered tones

of the pledges of the candidates.

Then it was all there for all to see -

Oz citizen Douglas Elford had indeed made the grade!

Posing for the 'Official Photo'

The Premier smiled and congradulated the successful 'New Australians' and further more declare that the morning tea and sausage sizzle was on for all the 'New Citizens', their friends and their families.

The band played on with tunes such as 'Moonlight in Vermont' ???

Fun being
had by all!
